New Year’s Eve Shakedown @ Bedroom Bar, December 31 2008

Well its been a bit of a random year for us, with lots of high and lows but as we head into 2009 things are looking a little rosier, certainly from this side of the fence anyhow. We’re still struggling with sporadic internet access so messages have been a little lacking of late, but let me assure you we’re still beavering away behind the scenes where possible to get things sorted for the new year and beyond. In the meantime, we’ve sorted out one last party for 2008 for enjoyment, so if you’re out and about in London this New Year’s Eve and are looking for a night of good quality music, a nice vibe and a family of friends, we might just have something for you…

In order to kick start 2009 in the right way, we decided to hook up with the OK_Ma boys to bring you a little something something at another of our favourite venues, the Bedroom Bar.  On the night, in the main room you’ll get the very talented Ok_Ma duo Young Lee and Jake (the sax) Telford playing an epic set of live sax n flute with soulful house, disco, broken beats, Latin and Afro rhythms and the odd party classic thrown in for good measure.

In the back room, we’ll be holding court with our good friends the CIgarettes and Sunshine boys and Wah Wah 45s recording artist (album out soon apparently) and all round good guy Scrimshire for a night of house party fuelled madness. Expect soul, funk, hip hop, acid house, good old fashioned rock and roll and a few guilty pleasures to keep the party rocking until sunrise. The party starts from 8pm and will run through to around 5am (assuming we’re all still standing!). There’ll be a few other surprises on the night but lets not give the whole game away just yet!

Here & Now Recordings Launch Party @ Plastic People, September 18 2008

Easy now… while we work on exactly how we top the last party (it was a corker, but as it happens it was the LAST party at that venue), here’s a bonafide soul-identity approved session for your attention. Previous soul-identity music guest and all around music good guy, JC brings a night of Here & Now goodness to one of our favourite (if not favourite) London clubs, Plastic People on September 18th. In attendance on the night will be the man like Yam Who?,  Steve Laviers (Motivators) and of course label boss JC. Anyone who’s caught any of the Here & Now releases, will know what to expect – something in the realm of soulful disco boogie bruk afro latin dance music – just the way we like it. See you on the dancefloor
