SOUL-IDENTITY MUSIC PRESENTS TUMBAO W/ SPECIAL GUEST JAKE TELFORD (OK-MA)

The Soul-Identity crew return to Barrio North on Friday 8th August for the launch of their new night “Tumbao”. Tumbao aims to build on the vibe of the crew’s previous parties at the Barrio which saw some of London’s finest DJs grace the decks. Tumbao’s music policy will be aimed squarely at the dancefloor, bringing you music with that soulful swing, Latin and Brazilian breaks, broken beats and feel good soul and funk to get you in the mood for the weekend.
For the 8th, we’ve also roped in a bit of extra live goodness in the form of Mr Jake Telford (Ok-Ma / Favourite Things), who’ll be bringing down his myriad of horn instruments to accompany the music with his own brand of rhythmic flow.

SOUL-IDENTITY MUSIC PRESENTS A SUPA SOUL SOUNDCLASH W/ SPECIAL GUESTS AIN’T NO NEW THING.

Yep, yep… its that time again. This Friday, we return to the Barrio after a two month absence for a supa soul soundclash of epic proportions. Joining us in the box this month will be the residents of one of London’s newest club nights, master Rhodesman and DJ in his own right, Mr Adam Scrimshire of Wah Wah 45s fame (Making his second appearance at the Barrio fact fans), and connoisseur of all things soulful, jazzy and funky Mr Sid Ford (File Under Jazz).
Musically, expect a mixed bag of goodness incorporating everything from classic funk, jazz and underground disco through to the eclectic rhythms of bossa nova, Latin boogaloo and Nuyorican soul. As with all soundclashes, the aim of the game this time around will be for each DJ duo to out do the otherĀ over a series of heats, using only their skills and the records in their bags.
Should be a hot one!
The fun starts at 8pm and admission is FREE all night.
